Our Story
Mansfield Pediatric Therapy was born out of an immense need for speech-language and feeding therapy services to children in the Mansfield area. We believe that every child deserves the best available speech-language and feeding treatment. Families shouldn’t have to drive hours to obtain high-quality services for their children. We strive to create a fun and comfortable environment to help children grow and obtain their best!
Our Speech-Language Pathologist

Amanda Kulka was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Speech & Hearing Science in 2010. She obtained her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Kent State University in 2012. Amanda received the Pediatric Special Populations grant through Kent State University and was also nominated for the Ohio Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (OSLHA) Outstanding Graduate Student Scholarship. Since then, she has focused her career serving the pediatric population in Mansfield in outpatient clinic settings. She worked with OhioHealth Pediatric Therapy from 2012 to 2016 and Akron Children’s Hospital since 2016. Amanda has specialized training and certifications in the areas of pediatric feeding/swallowing and dyslexia. Amanda became a Certified Lactation Counselor in 2015. Since 2017, she has been a trained professional in the SOS® (Sequential-Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding. She has completed the Wilson Reading System® Introductory course in addition to numerous other literacy and dyslexia related programs and courses. Since 2019, she is certified in the Hanen It Takes Two to Talk® The Hanen Program® for Parents.
Amanda is an excellent communicator, creative thinker, and ambitious learner passionately dedicated to providing high-quality care to Mansfield’s diverse pediatric population. Her professional career can be defined by compassion, positive influence and leadership, enthusiastic learning, adaptive problem-solving skills, integrity, and a desire to always nurture collaboration, always being up for a challenge, and embracing change. Achievements include initiating special care nursery rehabilitation services in a non-pediatric hospital, assisting in starting a satellite outpatient rehabilitation clinic, committee member on various teams, lead clinician for dyslexia and feeding programs at a regional site, providing training, mentorship, and education to fellow therapists in the areas of feeding and dyslexia.
Amanda is a member of the American Speech Hearing Language Association (ASHA) where she is involved in Special Interest Groups (Language Learning & Education and Swallowing & Swallowing Disorders/Dysphagia). She is on the ASHA Literacy Assessment & Intervention Committee. Amanda is a member of the international Dyslexia Association (IDA) where she serves as an accreditation reviewer as well as a member of Feeding Matters.
Amanda currently lives in Mansfield with her husband, Alex and her son, Jack. She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family, friends, and two basset hounds, Ruby and Toby.
